The North Texas Art Therapy Association (NTATA) is a chapter of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).

Why NTATA?

The North Texas Art Therapy Association is here to provide resources to its members, the community, and to promote the awareness of art therapy. We want to educate the public why art therapy is so much more than just putting a paint brush to paper. Please browse our site to learn more about art therapy, how you can be a part of our NTATA community and how to spread the word that the profession of art therapy has a strong presence in North Texas.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote awareness and access to professional Art Therapy as a valuable mental health service for all people and communities in North Texas through:

1. Developing CEU opportunities to foster quality, ethical and culturally responsive art therapy practice

2. Providing professional support and networking opportunities for art therapists

3. Building relationships with professional organizations

4. Engaging with community

December 6, 1:00 PM: New board introduced at an in-person social event (full details to follow).

HOW TO RUN:
This is a self-nomination process. If you would like to run for a position, please email your headshot and a short bio to info@ntata.org by November 9.

HOW TO VOTE:
Voting will take place via Google Form from November 23 through November 30. All current members in good standing are eligible to vote.

The following Executive Council positions are available:

Vice President: The Vice President supports the President and steps in to perform the President’s duties when the President is unavailable, including presiding at Board meetings and preparing meeting agendas. The Vice President also performs all duties customary to the office.

Treasurer: The Treasurer oversees the Association’s finances, prepares and presents the annual budget to the Board, and keeps the Board fully informed about all financial matters.

Membership VP: The Membership VP supports the growth and care of our membership by welcoming new members, maintaining the membership roster, and keeping members connected through regular communication. The Membership VP also performs all duties customary to the office.

Social VP: The Social VP plans and coordinates social and community-building events for members, working with the Board to create welcoming opportunities for connection, creativity, and fun throughout the year.

Secretary: The Secretary keeps accurate minutes of all Board meetings, ensures that all required notices are given, and performs all duties customary to the office of Secretary.

Government Liaison/Assembly of Chapters Representative: The Government Liaison monitors state and national legislative and regulatory developments affecting art therapy, including licensure in Texas, keeps the Board and members informed, and represents the Association in advocacy efforts with policymakers and partner organizations. Attends all chapter meetings.

Student Liaison: The Student Liaison serves as the voice of student members on the Board, communicates with art therapy students and programs, shares resources and opportunities, and encourages student involvement in the Association.
